Bijeljina
Educational center

This is the second largest city and center of the eastern part of Republika Srpska.

The name Bijeljina was mentioned in the mid 15th century, but it is in use only after the First World War.

The town reflects the variety of its cultures and history with the Atick mosque (built mid 16th century then rebuilt after the Bosnian War), and a Serbian Orthodox Church and town museum from the 19th century.

This area is the campus for many students in the broader region with its three universities: the University of Bijeljina and two private ones: Slobomir P University and University Sinergija.
